“Eight Days of Hope has been a true friend to the people of South Carolina. They came to us wanting to help when we experienced the devastating floods of 2015, and they worked tirelessly to get people back in their homes. When people were unable to return to their communities following Hurricane Matthew, they were among the first groups removing debris and clearing the roads to ensure safe travel. We could not be more thankful for the compassion of Steve Tybor and the rest of the team at Eight Days of Hope, and we will always consider them to be a part of Team South Carolina.” - Governor Nikki Haley (8DOH XII)

In 2011, Eastern NC was slammed by Hurricane Irene. It left the rural county of Pamlico in near ruin. As chairperson of the Pamlico County Disaster Recovery Coalition, it was our job to seek out those needed resources. I was thankful when our paths ran across Eight Days of Hope. They were a major blessing to our communities! Their teams were knowledgeable, professional and willing to share a smile or a hug. It was indeed a blessing beyond words for Eight Days of Hope to come to Pamlico County. We will never forget them!
“Thank you for everything you did for the residents in Lafayette, LA. during Eight Days of Hope XIII. It was an honor to be among such a wonderful, giving, and caring group of people who wanted nothing but to help others. The sense of togetherness that Eight Days of Hope brought to the Lafayette area was extraordinary, and I can't thank you enough."
“We had so many amazing volunteers that came out and literally worked day and night to build my family a brand new home to replace the one we lost. The volunteers came in and built more than our home, they bolstered our faith in the strength of the body of Christ. In a world full of darkness, they blazed with the love of Christ brighter than the sun. And not just to us, but to our whole town. It's forever changed Tupelo, Ms. for the better.”
"Eight Days of Hope was a Godsend to St. John the Baptist Parish following Hurricane Isaac. Eight Days of Hope brought over 2,500 volunteers to our community. Hundreds of families benefited from their acts of kindness and assistance with more than $4.1 million of materials and labor. We are forever grateful for the huge boost they made to our recovery and the love and compassion they shared".
