Thank you for registering to serve. Here are the details for this trip:

What happened in Panama City Beach? 
Hurricane Michael hit Panama City Beach on October 10th, 2018. PCB was one of the areas hit the hardest by Michael. This natural disaster caused thousands of homes to be destroyed by floodwaters and wind. We need your help to love and serve these families in great need. We plan to be in PCB through November 24th!

What is the cost to attend?
It is free! We provide the food and the lodging. You just have to show up with a willing heart to serve. We rely on churches, businesses, individuals and our volunteers for donations.

What are the sleeping arrangements?
We will provide sleeping accommodations. We will be staying at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat.

The lodging is separated by gender.

Will there be any RV spots available?

No, because of Hurricane Michael, all of the local RV parks are at max capacity. 

What if you live locally?

If you live locally, you can do one of two things. You can join us for breakfast at 6:00 am at Laguna Beach and get assigned a team there, or you can go to our headquarters (address below) between 7:30-8:00 am to get assigned to a crew. If you choose the later, please be prepared to drive to the job site.

Do I have to bring my own food?
No. We will provide food for all of our volunteers.

What kind of work will we be doing?
The primary work will be gutting the homes that were affected by the flooding. We will also be doing a lot of chainsaw work. Thousands of properties need to be cleaned up as well.

Should we bring tools?
Yes! Please bring any tools that you can, especially those that you would anticipate using for gutting a home and removing trees.

Can we bring our youth group or our children?
No, during Rapid Response trips we require everyone to be 18 years or older.

What will be a typical day serving with Eight Days of Hope?
Breakfast will start at 5:30 am. We will spend 10-15 minutes together with a special time of worship and devotion before we head out to help the families. Lunch will be delivered or taken to the job sites by the volunteers. Supper will begin at 6:00 pm.

What times can we arrive to “check in” to Eight Days of Hope and where do we go?
On Monday, October 22nd, the check-in area will be open at 2:00 pm. Please check-in at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat. The address is 20016 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32413.

We ask that you try to check-in by 8:00 pm 

What else can we do to prepare?
Please pray for the families that were affected by Hurricane Michael and that God would be glorified by our actions. Pray for safety, both while we work and for travel mercies for the volunteers. Pray that God sends the people He wants to be a part of this outreach. Pray that God will not only allow us to bless families but that He opens up many doors for us as we encourage people in the name of Jesus Christ!
