Our rapid response team is in Benton, PA., helping flooding victims. Here are the details:
What happened in Benton, PA?
Benton, PA was hit with record-breaking rainwater that rose to over five feet in some residences, damaging over 250 homes, destroying cars and other property.
What is the cost to attend?
It is free! We provide the food and the lodging. You just have to show up with a willing heart to serve. We rely on churches, businesses, individuals and our volunteers for donations. Donations are very much appreciated. One can donate online or by sending a check to PO 3208, Tupelo, MS. 38803.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
We will provide sleeping accommodations. Our headquarters will be located at Camp Ephachiseca. The address is: 23 Zaners Bridge Rd. Stillwater, PA 17878.
Please bring an air mattress or a cot for sleeping. There are a limited amount of bunk beds on site so please bring some linens to use in case you are assigned a bunk bed. Don’t forget your pillow!
Do I have to bring my own food?
No. We will provide food for all of our volunteers.
What kind of work will we be doing?
The primary work will be gutting the homes that were affected by the flooding.
Should we bring tools?
Yes! Please bring any tools that you can, especially those that you would anticipate using for gutting a home.
Can we bring our youth group or our children?
No, during Rapid Response trips we require everyone to be 18 years or older.
What will be a typical day be like?
Breakfast will start at 6:00 am and conclude around 7:00 am. We will spend 10-15 minutes together with a special time of worship and devotion before we head out to help the families. Lunch will be delivered or taken to the job sites by the volunteers. Supper will begin at 5:30 pm and conclude at 7:00 pm.
What times can we arrive to “check in” to Eight Days of Hope and where do we go?
On Friday, August 17 th , the check-in area will be open at 4:00 pm. The headquarters will be located at Camp Ephachiseca. The address is: 23 Zaners Bridge Rd. Stillwater, PA 17878.
What else can we do to prepare?
Please pray for the homeowners that were affected by the flooding and that God would be glorified by our actions. Pray for safety both while we work and for travel mercies for the volunteers. Pray that God sends the people He wants to be a part of this outreach. Pray that God will not only allow us to restore homes, but that He opens up many doors for us as we encourage people in the name of Jesus Christ!

Do I have to stay for the whole event?
No, you can come for 1 day or all 21 days.
What should I bring?
Your Eight Days of Hope Rapid Response t-shirt. If you do not have one, one will be provided!
