Safe Harbor Ohio Updates

Did you know that human trafficking is the fastest growing crime in all of history? Traffickers are turning a profit of over $1 billion annually, and at what expense?

Our daughters. Our sons. Our sisters and brothers. Our loved ones.

This year, we are working closely with Safe Harbor Ohio, a refuge for girls ages 14-18 who are rescued from trafficking. This safe home will be the largest in the Northeast, serving girls from across the region. Over the next six months, we are leading Phase 1 of construction, which includes 3 cottages, a chapel, an administrative building, and a school. This phase will cost over $3.5 million to complete, but with the help of partners across the country, we are hoping that the price of freedom will be substantially less.

Your Giving Matters

Melissa Brown, Safe Harbor Ohio CEO

“For every girl who comes to Safe Harbor, I believe God will restore not only her, but generations of her, the kids we will never meet. Your financial gift is a part of changing her story. You are a vital part of the great exchange of beauty for ashes.”

There isn’t a corner across the United States and the globe that sits untouched by trafficking. It’s happening in Buffalo, NY, and in Tupelo, MS, and everywhere in between. And as awareness about human trafficking increases, survivors are fleeing the cycle of abuse at a greater rate. But the United States is sorely lacking on safe places for these survivors to go.

That’s where Eight Days of Hope fits in. We are humbled to come alongside of ministries across the United States that are serving survivors of human trafficking. To date, we have partnered with 13 organizations in 8 states to build 7 care centers and 6 safe homes.

Today, you have the chance to make a difference in the lives of girls rescued from trafficking. Safe Harbor Ohio is already underway. The buildings are being framed, and the grounds are being bathed in prayer. We have met our goal for Phase 1, and we are beginning to raise funding for Phase 2!
