Eight Days of Hope started in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina with the hope of helping a family or two fix their home in the aftermath of the hurricane. Today, that mission has turned into both a Rapid Response Ministry and a Rebuilding Ministry. Since 2005, almost 60,000 volunteers have joined EDOH to help 11,000 families recover from natural disasters – completing over $90 million of work for free!
In XXXX, we realized that restoring a home is not the only need after a disaster strikes. On a whim, we made meals and passed them out in Houma, LA, after disaster victims had gone weeks without power. We soon realized that the ministry of a warm meal, a hot shower, and clean clothing changed lives. Since then, our Mass Feeding Ministry launched, and we have fed almost 45,000 meals to those in need.
