If you have volunteered for Houston, here are the details you should know.
What type of work will we be doing?
We will be serving the Hurricane survivors. The type of work we will be doing includes but not limited to: mudding out homes, removing wet furniture, removing drywall, flooring and carpet! We are looking forward to ministering to the homeowners, volunteers, and the community.
How can you help?
Encourage others to volunteer or donate also! Spread the word! Forward this e-mail to all your friends & family and/or post on your social media pages. Also, “like” our social media sites and share the information we post!
Pray fervently that we (our leadership team and volunteers) Love and Serve all we come in contact with!
When can a volunteer arrive?
Volunteers can arrive after 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 3rd. Please do not arrive at our headquarters before this time. Please do not contact the church directly. You can email us at email@example.com or call 662.255.7565.
When is the first meal and when will Eight Days of Hope leave Texas?
Our first meal will be breakfast on Monday, September 4th. The last full day to serve is October 15th.
Where is the Eight Days of Hope headquarters/lodging going to be set up at?
Our host church is: Grace Church Houston. It is located at 14505 Gulf Fwy Houston, Texas, 77034. Please do not call them for anything but contact us directly.
If I fly into Houston, do you provide transportation from the airport?
Yes, we will provide transportation to and from Hobby Airport. It is very close! Please call 662.255.7565 to arrange transportation.
What should a volunteer bring?
Bible, Sleeping Bag/Air Mattress, toiletries, towels, sunscreen, flashlights, ear plugs, rain gear, work boots, leather gloves, bug spray, flip flops for shower trailer, case of water or Gatorade.
