Eight Days of Hope XI

Tupelo, MS | July 12-19, 2014

On April 28, 2014, tornadoes whipped through the southeastern part of our country. Many states suffered significant damage. One of the cities that suffered a direct hit was Tupelo, Mississippi. Over 3,000 homes suffered damage within 60 miles, over 700 in Tupelo alone. Many of these families did not have the proper insurance and had little resources to rebuild.

Eight Days of Hope worked with local community leaders and the Community Based Recovery Committee to help rebuild these families’ homes. Our goal was to use the gifts that God had given us to bless others and share the love of Jesus!

With 3,023 volunteers from 37 states, we were able to work in 235 homes, completing 159 of them! This trip established a new record for volunteers with an organization during an eight-day span.

Our goal was not to set records but to share the love and hope of Jesus with the city of Tupelo!
